3DD

Day two of 3DD consisted of two key factors, one being spaghetti and the second a glue gun. We were instructed to build a structure that would support three plastic balls, all had to be not touching. Although difficult I found this task easier then the two we were given on the first day and visually more pleasing to look at. So far in 3DD I've found the tasks more challenging then the ones required of us in the other areas within the foundation.

When we had finished our structures and tested them with the plastic balls we were given sheets of A1 paper and told to create a protective layer inside or outside of the structure. This would hopefully protect it from the force of an object that would be dropped onto it.

What I found interesting about this task was how drastically the angular, hollow structure transformed into a solid three dimensional object. The shadows and curves brings the whole piece to life and began to reveal how a building structure transforms and develops.
