3DD
In our introduction to 3DD we were directed to draw random objects ranging from our favourite fruit to a cluster of shapes. We then had to transform these individual objects into completely different formations varying from rabbit hutches to auto vehicles. I found this task harder than I anticipated, trying to shift my unexpectedly regimented way of thinking. We attempted to reject typical forms and structure and in sense be more loose and flamboyant with our designs, creating things that you wouldn't conventionally associate with the objects we were asked to artistically create.
For our first hands on task we were given a piece of A1 paper and tape and were instructed to build a structure that would support a flask of water (around a litre).
I found this task surprisingly difficult and have to admit that my end structure left me a little disappointed. I think this was due to my rather unadventurous shape of the object. The only true success in my opinion was the height that my bottle managed to reach, and the strength of the structure proved very sturdy and reliable.
